Until November 2017 I was the Librarian at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies. I worked there for so long that the Berlin Wall was still standing when I was first appointed. My previous post was in Chatham House Library looking after their Russia collection.
This blog is primarily intended to develop some of the ideas I wrote about in my book Supporting research in area studies: a guide for academic libraries, Chandos, 2015. An open access version of my manuscript can be found in UCL’s repository. I also want to maintain the habit of writing, so I expect to blog from time to time on other issues broadly related to libraries.
